She left her comfortable home in England to stalk the German dictator until she met him. Witnesses said Hitler behaved like an adolescent in her company but was only interested in using her for propaganda purposes. Mitford held orgies in her Munich apartment with Storm Troopers and SS men so she could tell the man she called “her Messiah” about the intimate details. Unfortunately she, like so many others, fell in love with the image of the “manly Fuhrer”, the fake personality he presented to the German people. When she discovered she had deluded herself and that he had nothing to offer her,Unity Mitford committed suicide by shooting herself in the head with the gun Hitler had given her.
